Dr Mario Trelles is a seasoned, highly recognised general surgeon and plastic aesthetic and reconstructive surgeon. He is president of the European Society Laser Aesthetic Surgery (ESLAS), the Spanish Laser Society (SELMQ) and the European Laser Association (ELA). He is also a board member of the Laser Aesthetic Society of Cosmetic Surgeons (US).
On the academic front Dr. Trelles is a professor at the University Catolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome for postgraduate diplomas in Lasers in Dermatology, a visiting professor at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, School of Medicine, University of Masaryk, Brno, Czech Republic, and the director of Master programmes on Lasers in Medicine, College of Physicians, Barcelona, Spain.
Dr Trelles is the author of over 250 peer review articles, various books and numerous textbook chapters. He is also the international editor of the Dermatological Surgery Journal in the US. Additionally, Dr Trelles is the president of the board of trustees for the Foundation Antoni de Gimbernat, a non-profit organisation dedicated to research in medicine and is the director of the Instituto Medico Vilafortuny, Cambrils, Tarragona, Spain, a reference centre for academics in lasers in the European community.
